About Us
Potterne Honey is a small family business run by Paul, Rebecca and their two daughters who love being mini beekeepers.
Pauls interest in bees and bee keeping started at a young age. Paul’s daily walk to school passed a well-known honey farm, and many a time he stopped and watched the operations in the yard, Paul dreamt of one day looking after his own hive of bees.
During the winter of 2017 Paul joined a local beekeeping association and enrolled on a basic beekeeping course, completing an apprenticeship the following year. June 2018 saw the arrival of the first hive and the beginning for Potterne Honey.
Paul’s skills and knowledge over the past few years have grown, Potterne Honey now produce delicious honey with a subtly different flavour from each hive.
The beehives for Potterne Honey are located within Potterne, Devizes and Salisbury Plain capturing the flora of the local landscape ranging from wooded areas, hedgerows, urban gardens, the Kennet and Avon Canal and Salisbury Plain. Each apiary has its own unique flavour of honey foraged by the bees.
Potterne Honey are passionate about helping to boost the local population of honeybees and delight in knowing when you eat the honey you are enjoying the flavours from the heart of the Wiltshire Countryside.
